bono hmmm...

Race and body image

I watched a show on MTV (shut up, I know) about how race affects body image. One Asian girl had a fold put into her eyes to "fit in" and be more "normal" and "prettier". I couldn't really understand how she felt because I have a natural fold from genetics, and I personally haven't tried to fit in since 8th grade and since then have resigned myself to being a geek, which is probably even more laughable than my Asianness. I also go to a school where racism is probably less present than in most places, so I haven't had to deal with a lot of it since elementary school.

I have some issues about self image, but that isn't really affected by my race. Only a bit. I know I have a whole bunch of Asians (and non Asians) on my friendslist. Do you have any self-image issues with your race? Are you made fun of because you look "different"? Do you want to change the way you look?

I'm curious to hear what you guys have to say. (Hey, even if you aren't Asian, feel free to join in.)

fdisk scares me. I think I need to resize my Windows partition using my Mandrake install disk before I'm willing to use fdisk.

Applied to takenote_icons. Wow. I'm nervous.

Still have not finished my math, which is bad, but it shouldn't be a problem. Erm, nightsword04, do you know what the LaGrange hypothesis is? I probably have to ask Emerson, but he might have told you. We worked on it the day you weren't here.

Yeah, but at l finished Catcher in the Rye. It gets better toward the end, saml. Holden stops trying to judge every little thing people do and becomes a little more honest.
