"christianity will go. it will vanish and shrink. i needn t argue with that; i m right and i will be proved right. we re more popular than jesus now; i don t know which will go first - rock and roll or christianity first - rock and roll or christianity"
That crazy John Lennon.
I am so in love with Wikipedia's list of Latin phrases because you can never have enough Latin phrases. Never.
Latin phrase multi-fandom ficlet thing (in an attempt to get my muses back on track):
veni, vidi, vici
ender's game, peter
Peter decided to take over the world on a bright sunny day. He was fourteen.
The memory is bright, sharp, and clear in his mind. They were outside, on the patio, enjoying the pleasant weather. It was spring, before the Greensboro weather got too hot to spend time outside. He can hear his father talking, complaining about the Russians and how they were moving unchecked. He can hear his mother agreeing, her voice conversational and mildly irritated in that it's-not-really-our-problem way. He can see Valentine reading the newspaper, looking for any news on the Battle School or Ender.
It wasn't a revelation, per se. Not a sudden burst of understanding. When the pieces fell into place, it was as if they had been there forever.
He was going to take over the world, because the world was too stupid to know any better. The thought was oddly comforting.
"I came, I saw, I conquered"
