Since I am suffering from writer's block, a writing meme:

If you happen to be working on some creative writing project, fanfiction or NaNoWriMo or what have you, post exactly one sentence (or more) from each of your current work(s) in progress in your journal. It should probably be your favorite or most intriguing sentence so far, but what you choose is entirely your discretion. Mention the title (and genre) if you like, but don't mention anything else -- this is merely to whet the general appetite for your forthcoming work(s).

That Hughes gen thing. You know, with the kid
A man is sitting in the small courtyard where the boy and his friend once played, on the ledge where they used to sit when they were tired. The man is tall and dark haired with green eyes that mark him as an Asmestrian, even if his uniform did not, and his shoulders sag against the wall. The boy does not know that the man is tired, that he smiles even when he's sad, that the man has friends he doesn't see anymore too. The man does not know that the boy is there.

The second part of You Gotta Go There To Come Back, which I know no one cares about
There is always music to the Daily Planet, an orchestra of people, telephones, television screens, computers. Clark used to know its songs, its melodies, but things are different now. The instruments have changed. The rhythms have changed. Clark doesn't know them anymore.

But he tells himself that he will learn them again.

A 30_gens fic, for the theme "money"
On the front cover of the Gazette is a story about Bruce Wayne's latest conquest. Some reporter or something. He wonders why the fuck anyone would give that much of a shit about Wayne's life. He's a fucking moron.

But then again, he's money, old, Gotham money. And that's the way this town works.
