I managed to wander into this really cool photography project, Don't Ask, Don't Tell, by Jeff Sheng. (You can see all the images in a particular collection by hovering your mouse over the bottom of the image, which took me forever to figure out.)
They're photographs of gay men and lesbians currently serving in the military with their faces obscured in a variety of ways, and the result is just beautiful and heartbreaking. There's also a New York Times profile on the project. The book is a little pricey, but I am sorely tempted to buy it, because Sheng is way talented, and I would very much like to help fund something like this.
Art, man. That stuff can change the world sometimes. I hope it does now.
