Dear Yuletide Author Letter

General likes/dislikes:

I really enjoy small moments that mean a lot, complex relationships, pining, seasons/the weather, world building, character development, comedy.

I dislike character bashing (even if the character is objectively terrible), a complete lack of conflict or difficulty for the characters.

I do have shipping preferences, but I'm more into characters than ships.

I don't really care if you go for happy or sad endings. I don't have a preference for one over the other.

Specific requests:

Broken Age
Shay Volta / Vella Tartine

We see glimpses of what happens after the game ends, and I'd love to see an expansion on that. What does the world look like now that people know what the Mogs are? What happens to the characters? How do their relationships change? Feel free to be shippy or not-shippy! I would enjoy both.

Banlieue 13
Leito / Damien Tomaso

I have such a fondness for the first movie and the characters and the action scenes in it. One critic called it a 'love affair between their different kinesises' and I think that's what I love about it. If you can capture any aspect of that, their different yet aligned philosophies, the push-and-pull of their friendship, the fluidity of their movement. Like above, feel free to make it shippy or not shippy as you please.

Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon
Li Mu Bai / Yu Shu Lien

I just really loved the careful, subtle, delicate, yearning in their relationship in the movie, and I'd love to see more of it. Some backstory on their lives before the movie would be great. Maybe their first meeting? The days while Shu Lien is still engaged?
